Rest at the foot of
Mount Kenya
C-SIR Naro Moru Safari Camp β a relaxed, nature-filled stopover for trekkers, backpackers, birdwatchers, families, couples, and celebrations of all kinds. Fresh air, open grounds, and the mountain always within reach.
Life at the Camp
From birdwatching at dawn to overlanders under the acacia trees β here is C-SIR Naro Moru as it really is.
A hidden getaway in Mount Kenya's foothills
C-SIR Naro Moru Safari Camp is not a polished resort or a luxury lodge. Its character comes from honesty: open space, bunkhouse accommodation, birdlife, fresh mountain air, and a chance to slow down without pretence. Set directly off the A2 NyeriβNanyuki Road, the camp is surrounded by natural bushes and acacia trees, just 8 km from Naro Moru town.
Whether you are a mountaineer heading up the Naro Moru route to Point Lenana, a couple planning a candlelit dinner by the dam, a family looking for a weekend getaway, or a group celebrating a graduation under the open sky β C-SIR offers a natural setting that transforms every occasion into something memorable.
Strategic Location
Off the A2 highway, 8 km from Naro Moru town, 10 km from Chaka Market. Nairobi is 2.5β4 hours away by road.
Natural Setting
Acacia trees, open green grounds, a scenic dam, and the Mount Kenya foothills as your backdrop β day and night.
Every Occasion
Weddings, graduations, goat roasts, date nights, friend get-togethers, family getaways β we host them all.
Bunkhouse sleeping, built for groups
The camp provides bunkhouse-style accommodation for groups and independent travelers β practical, comfortable, and oriented around the needs of people on the move. The full campsite accommodates up to 16 guests with two bedrooms and four bathrooms, each with hot showers.
Pitch your tent under the acacia trees
The camping area at C-SIR Naro Moru offers open green lawns sheltered by mature acacia and cedar trees. Campers share the same facilities as bunkhouse guests β hot showers, bathrooms, kitchen access, and secure grounds. The atmosphere is quiet: birdsong in the morning, fire-crackle in the evening, stars at night.
Camping gear is available to hire on-site, so you do not need to bring everything. Tents, sleeping bags, camp chairs, and cooking sets can be reserved in advance β ideal for first-time campers, overlanders who need extras, or groups who want to travel light.
Open Camping Field
Flat, grassy lawns under mature trees. Space for multiple tents with clear sightlines toward the mountain.
Overlander Camping
Drive-in camping for roof-tent vehicles and overland rigs. Electricity hook-up and secure parking included.
Campfire Area
Firewood available on-site. Gather around the fire for evening meals, stories, and the sounds of the foothills.
Hire-able Camping Gear
Everything you need, available to reserve when you book your camping spot.
Celebrate, gather, and create memories
The natural grounds of C-SIR Naro Moru Safari Camp are not just a stopover β they are a venue. Open green lawns, the scenic dam, towering trees, and Mount Kenya as your backdrop make every celebration feel different from anything you have done in a banquet hall or hotel. The camp hosts intimate events of all sizes, with full catering coordination, dΓ©cor assistance, and local guide support.
Natural Woodland Weddings
Exchange vows under the acacia canopy with Mount Kenya as witness. The open lawn accommodates ceremonies and receptions for up to 60 guests. Garden setup, candlelit dinner, music, and floral coordination available.
Graduation Celebrations
Mark your achievement with a celebration that matches its scale. Outdoor seating, catered goat roast or BBQ, music setup, and garden dining β a graduation party that no hotel can replicate.
Romantic Dam-Side Evenings
A private table by the dam, candles reflected in the water, a chosen meal prepared on-site, and music playing softly under the stars. Reserve the dam area exclusively for a date evening that surprises.
Traditional Nyama Choma Gatherings
Whole goat prepared traditionally on the open grounds, with ugali, sukuma wiki, and cold drinks. A popular choice for groups celebrating together in the Kenyan way β relaxed, communal, and deeply satisfying.
Group Hangouts & Reunions
Book the full grounds for a day or weekend. Camping or bunkhouses, BBQ, birdwatching, a swim in the dam, campfire in the evening β a proper escape from the city with people who matter.
Family Retreat Weekends
Disconnect from screens and reconnect with each other. Kids explore the grounds, adults relax in the shade or visit the dam, and evenings are spent around the fire. Full bunkhouse available for families up to 16.
The water feature that changes everything
The dam at C-SIR Naro Moru is one of the camp's most distinctive features. Fringed by trees and open to the sky, the still water reflects the clouds and the surrounding vegetation, creating a setting that is calm, private, and beautiful at any time of day.
In the morning, birds come to drink and bathe along the water's edge β a natural birdwatching spot without walking a step. In the evening, the dam catches the last light of the sun, making it an ideal backdrop for a romantic dinner, a quiet drink, or a group photograph that actually captures the feeling of the place.
The dam area can be reserved exclusively for private events: couples' dinners, small wedding ceremonies, photography sessions, and quiet solo mornings. It can also host informal gatherings with chairs, blankets, and a campfire nearby.
Reserve the Dam Area βA table under the open sky
The garden dining area at C-SIR is where the camp's setting transforms a meal into an event. Tables are set on the open lawns beneath the trees, with Mount Kenya's silhouette visible on clear evenings. Whether you want a casual lunch, a special birthday dinner, or a romantic candlelit experience, the garden can be arranged to suit your preference.
Every garden table reservation is customisable: choose your meal, your table setting colour, your music, and whether you want candles. The kitchen team prepares your selection fresh on-site using local ingredients.
Candlelit Evenings
Table candles, lanterns along the path, and soft lighting β reserve this option when booking your garden table.
Music Settings
Choose acoustic folk, Kenyan benga, jazz, or silence. Music is set by request and kept at a level that does not disturb other guests.
Table Colours
Choose your tablecloth and dΓ©cor colour β white, green, red, gold, or mixed β to match the mood or occasion.
Birdwatching, nature walks & mountain air
The natural bushes and trees around the camp attract a rich variety of bird species. Early morning is best β birds are most active, the light is soft, and the camp is quiet. The broader Naro Moru River area has recorded almost 400 bird species across roughly 30 hectares of riverine forest.
Nature Walks
Short guided or self-guided walks around the grounds and toward the Naro Moru River. No equipment needed β just comfortable shoes.
Naro Moru River
Shaded riverside walks and trout fishing on the nearby Naro Moru River. Local guides can arrange riverside treks and fishing permits.
Photography
Morning bird photography, golden-hour landscape shots, dam reflections, and mountain views. The camp is a photographer's natural base.
Remote Work
Peaceful grounds and shade for a quiet work stopover. Confirm mobile coverage in advance for demanding online tasks.
